'Home: My San Francisco' Opening Tonight at AIA!

Last updated · San Francisco

The San Francisco chapter of the American Institute of Architects opened a gallery exhibition titled Home: My San Francisco, curated by Julie Blankenship with photographs by Julie Sadowski. The show examines the unique living spaces San Francisco residents have made for themselves — and how those spaces have been forced to change under the pressure of rapid economic growth.

The gallery features 12 photographs, anchored by an online component that expands into dozens more photographs, architectural drawings, videos, and texts building a narrative across the city’s varying neighborhoods, buildings, and the histories of their residents.

Home: My San Francisco focuses on the role design and sustainability play in domestic environments, and on the dramatic transformation the city has undergone as tech money reshaped the landscape of urban living.

Location: AIA San Francisco, 130 Sutter Street, Suite 600, San Francisco, CA
